Going on his public interviews he does whatever you ask the answer might well be brief and there is no second question. If it were to reflect on what to ask I would want to ask Brian a simple question was about art vs life, creativity vs the process-dealing with the management and with all the other people you don't particularly want to, but you know you have to to get to the creative part of life. I might ask him which classical composers tunes he likes the most. With Brian it would be Gershwin when I might like it to be Chopin be never mind. But if he played you, just you, a few bars of Gershwin unprompted you would think you'd died and gone to Heaven......
Hey Scott. Am really enjoying your work. I was wondering if you are considering doing work on the 1964 "In Concert" album, particularly since their are tracks available from the full shows that were not included (along with some from the 1965 Chicago show, such as "Louie, Louie"). With a little bit of judicious editing, this could be fascinating.
If anybody deserves to meet the great man it is you.
ReplyDeletePerhaps ask him if the tracklisting on the Smile cover art was a rough list of songs or the intended album?
I doubt he'd remember something like that haha, but thanks for the kind words!

ReplyDeleteYup, Brian can be a little vague and brief with his answers most of the time. He kinda gives off the impression that he'd rather back back at home in his bed! But I still don't know what I should say to him, whether it be a unique question he doesn't get asked a lot, or just a simple, cliché "Thanks". I guess I'll just let the spur of the moment take over...
